Set in a bleak future where environmental devastation and high temperatures plague Earth, Waterman is an imaginative science fiction story that merges profound ecological concepts with innovative technological speculation. The narrative centers on (Professor Joseph Lorensky), an exceptional Polish scientist whose groundbreaking studies in water-related biotechnology could be crucial for saving humanity. His experiments resulted in the emergence of Daniel, an enigmatic being capable of controlling and changing into water. With the slowing of Earth’s rotation and the increasing hostility of its atmosphere, water emerges as the most valuable resource. In New York, survivors like the tenacious (Carina Lorensky), who was Daniel’s love interest and the professor’s daughter, struggle to endure amidst a harsh regime. Upon his return, Daniel, now possessing extraordinary mastery of water, transforms into an emblem of hope—and a target. Alongside Carina, he must evade formidable powers determined to seize them, while revealing mysteries that could restore the planet. Combining scientific precision with emotionally impactful narratives, Waterman examines topics of ecological accountability, the repercussions of human creativity, and the lasting strength of love and togetherness. Through vibrant world-building, deep philosophical themes, and dynamic action, the novel draws readers into a future that is equally frightening and filled with potential.
Fyodor Galitsa was born in the USSR and grew up in the city of Lviv, western Ukraine. From early childhood, he dreamed of moving to New York City. In September 1996, that dream came true. New York welcomed him, just as always it welcomes every immigrant. All that was left was to prove: “If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.”
On May 10, 2024, his first science fiction novel Waterman was published, and now available on major platforms worldwide, from Amazon to Barnes & Noble. He is currently working to produce a feature film based on his novel.
Today, Fyodor is the founder of the Waterman spring water brand, publishes a signature water-themed calendar, and is working on the first edition of the Waterman comic book. At the same time, he is already writing his next novel, titled The Beginning.
We’re planning a Waterman feature film. The concept is in early development — we’re shaping the story arc, visual language, and casting direction. Below are the current summary and the working screenplay draft.
